Pochettino joins Inter Club d'Escaldes to make Andorran football history

Maurizio Pochettino, the former Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint‑Germain manager, has taken the helm at Inter Club d'Escaldes in Andorra. The appointment was announced in a press release that highlighted Pochettino’s extensive experience in top‑flight football and his reputation for building competitive teams.

Inter Club d'Escaldes is one of the most successful clubs in the Andorran Primera Divisió, having won multiple domestic titles in recent years. The club’s ambition has grown steadily, and it has now set its sights on European competition for the first time.

Andorra is a small European nation whose football league is still developing. Historically, Andorran clubs have not qualified for UEFA competitions, so a European debut would represent a significant milestone for the country’s footballing community.

Pochettino’s arrival is expected to bring a higher level of professionalism and tactical insight to the squad. The experience of a coach who has managed at the highest levels is seen as a key factor in preparing the team for the challenges of continental football.

Looking ahead, Inter Club d'Escaldes will focus on training and squad development as they prepare for their first European fixture. The club’s management has indicated that the upcoming season will be a testing ground for both the players and the coaching staff as they aim to establish a foothold in European competitions.
